Gonzaga University Humanities Building

Spokane, WA

The transformation of Gonzaga University’s Jesuit Residence/Infirmary/Chapel into a state-of-the-art administration building was a distinctive project that involved repurposing the space by eliminating patient rooms to widen corridors and establish offices. In the chapel area, Walker took a unique approach by encapsulating a historical wall mosaic and converting the space into individual study “pods.” This innovative adaptation reflects a careful balance between preserving historical elements and creating modern, functional spaces within the structure.
