Selkirk Middle School

Spokane Valley, WA

The New Middle School at Toledo Station project is a 86,000 SF ground-up structural steel and CMU building in the Liberty Lake area of Spokane. The site is on a previously undeveloped property adjacent to county egress areas for the future light rail project. It incorporated elements of local residential development, including a roundabout and utilities. The building structure consists of two 2-story classroom wings connected with a common lunch area, a full gymnasium with custom bleachers, associated locker rooms, music rooms, and administration areas. The commons area is flanked by full height glazing elements and a structural bridge between the independent classrooms wings where students have access to lockers with stair access on both sides.
