The Pearl on Adams

Walker Construction spearheaded the revitalization of The Pearl on Adams, a historic apartment building in downtown Spokane, embodying a commitment to affordable housing and sustainable development. This project involved renovating a 27,000 SF early 1900’s structure, integrating thirty-five affordable units while meticulously restoring the exterior brick masonry and installing a modern elevator. Adhering to stringent compliance standards set by the National Parks Services and Historic Registry, Walker Construction ensured the building’s transition into a blend of historic charm and modern amenities, as well as earning certification as “Built Green.” The multifaceted financing included Historic Tax Credits and Federal HUD Funds. The project also met additional requirements such as Residential Prevailing Wages and apprenticeship participation. The Pearl on Adams stands as a testament to Walker Construction’s dedication to revitalizing Spokane’s historic landscape while meeting the community’s contemporary housing needs.
