West Valley High School

Yakima, WA

This GC/CM project is a state-of-the-art high school constructed on 45 acres of previously undeveloped property. Extensive sitework began with moving 250,000 CY of material to prepare the building pad. The two-story steel and concrete masonry structure was built to accommodate 1,500 students and features 50 classrooms, eight science labs, seven computer labs, vocational-tech space, a 500-seat auditorium, and gymnasium with elevated running track. Site development included the construction of two performance baseball fields, two performance softball fields, one practice infield, four press boxes, eight dugouts, a maintenance building, a concession building, and batting cages. The facility features gas fired roof top units and a full lighting control system. Integrated security and surveillance systems are installed throughout. Coordination efforts were effective in accelerating the schedule allowing the project to be completed six months ahead of schedule.
